Meet Jane Lovell
I have spent my working life in two rather different worlds: leading organisations and working with horses. At Triquetra, I bring those worlds together to help teams and leaders see how they communicate, connect and earn trust
My story
I have spent a career moving between very different worlds. I have run start-ups, run my own business, and led not-for-profit organisations. I have been a federal political adviser, CEO of the Victorian Farmers Federation, and CEO of Seafood Industry Australia, and I am currently CEO of Goulburn Region Tourism. I sit on several Boards and have previously chaired others. I also work as an executive coach and mentor.
Alongside all of that, I have spent the past 30 years breeding and starting horses of my own, including my stallion Robali Darjeeling, a Multi-Supreme Champion Arabian both led and under saddle, whose bloodline continues through his offspring competing internationally today.
An experienced speaker and facilitator, I am able to engage audiences with what some people would say is a quirky sense of humour.
I have learnt that communication is the key to success in everything we do, both personally and professionally. The ability to read people and situations and respond in a measured and appropriate manner is a skill that does not always come naturally but can be learned and developed.
Horses keep me grounded. I was born with a “thing” for horses and they have been the one constant in my life. My appreciation of their power has grown and refined over three decades of breeding and starting them myself.
I am at my happiest, and sometimes saddest, hanging with horses, in the paddock, in the mud, in my gumboots.
I want to share this, the fun, the insights and the rewards of horses, and the things they can teach us as people, team members and leaders.
