Horse power

The benefits of working with horses

The magnificence of horses lies not only in their physical beauty and strength but also in the profound connections they forge with humans. From their graceful movements to their emotional intelligence, horses are extraordinary beings.

They can read human emotions and respond with empathy, forging deep connections with their “people”.  The bond between a horse and its human is a testament to the mutual understanding and trust that can be forged.

That’s why we focus on the power of horses to develop self- awareness, build stronger teams and dynamic leaders.

As Viktor E. Frankl said,

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

Finding that space in your own responses as well as being aware of the responses you maybe unknowingly creating in others helps us develop as people, leaders and effective team members.

This is where horses can be highly effective teachers.

Because they survive by being uber-present, reading the environment and body language they give you the perfect opportunity to experiment with and become aware of the consequences (their response) to your actions (our stimulus).

They will know so much about you – your intent, your energy- before you get to the gate. They can teach us so much about how we present, communicate and manage emotions like stress and frustration.  Horses are a mirror, their feedback can be immediate and  confrontingly honest. They simply don’t need to tell you what you want to hear.  It’s not how they work.

There’s no “bs” in the feedback from a horse.  They aren’t impressed by your title or strategy you just pulled off.  You may mean nothing more to them than a source of feed.

They can give you goosebumps with their power, generosity and ability to sit you on your backside in the mud – whenever they chose!
